Tales of pirates and whisky smuggling at Bowhill House this summer

Two spectacular interactive performances from the Walking Theatre Company will be held in the grounds of Bowhill House on 27 July.

A perfect day out for all the family, Treasure Island (performance commences at 2pm) takes spectators on a swashbuckling journey to help Jim ‘lad’ Hawkins to find buried treasure and evade Long John Silver.

Meanwhile, The Whisky Way (performance commences at 7pm) tells a tale of smuggling illicit goods which leads Excise men to Bowhill Estate. Help outsmart the Government and bag yourself a wee dram!

This year’s performances from the Walking Theatre Company follow an outstanding response to 2016’s Wiz around OZ which retold this classic story with Bowhill House as its magical backdrop.

Helen Currie, House and Events Manager at Bowhill, said: “We are delighted to welcome the Walking Theatre Company back to Bowhill for two thrilling performances.

“The shows cater for lots of different audiences with Treasure Island a fantastic interactive family performance, and The Whisky Way a great evening out with the opportunity for whisky lovers to enjoy a dram.

“Both performances take the audience on a journey around the Estate, so do remember to dress for all weather.”

Tickets for Treasure Island are priced £5 per person. Tickets for The Whisky Way are priced £15 per person and includes nibbles and a dram of whisky. This performance is not suitable for under 16s.
