Spring programme of theatre at Bowhill House

14th February, 2019

The intimate theatre at Bowhill House and Grounds is set to host two productions next month to entertain audiences of all ages.

First up is ‘Splinters Productions: Get A Life!’ on Thursday 21 March at 8pm followed by ‘Clydebuilt Puppet Theatre: The Lighthouse Keeper’s Tale’ on Saturday 30 March at 3pm.
‘Get A Life!’ will see John Shedden and Finlay McLean entertaining the audience alongside their muse, the skeleton, to perform a series of parody sketches. Packed with weird, wonderful and often sarcastic viewpoints on the world today, it’s set to be full of side splitting moments.

Tickets for ‘Splinters Productions: Get A Life!’ can be purchased from Bowhill and cost £12 for over 16s and £10 for under 16s.

Clydebuilt Puppet Theatre will return to entertain guests at Bowhill once again – this time with a story of friendship and magic between characters Tom and Belle. Tom is the lighthouse keeper, who lives in a village by the sea and his friend Belle is a mystical mermaid who lives in the sea. Suitable for children aged 3-7 this puppet tale, accompanied with an original soundtrack, is the perfect choice for a family day out in the Borders – It also coincides with the first day of Bowhill’s visitor season.

Tickets for ‘Clydebuilt Puppet Theatre: The Lighthouse Keeper’s Tale’ can be purchased from the Estate and cost £6 per person.

Sarah Richardson, Visitor Services and Marketing Manager at Bowhill House and Grounds, said: “It’s great to launch our spring programme of theatre at Bowhill and we can’t wait to welcome families along for some live entertainment.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for kids and adults to get imaginative and dive into a little bit of fiction and fantasy during a visit to the heart of the Scottish Borders.”
