Make the most of March at Bowhill
3rd March, 2014
Activity is hotting up at Bowhill House and Country Estate, as the team prepare for the new 2014 season opening on April 5.
March will see several events take place around the Estate including the first in a series of beginners guided walks, entitled ‘Spring Walk and Talk’ with a focus on flowers.
Nature-lovers are welcome to join in on March 9, between 11am-1pm, for a tour highlighting the fantastic collection of spring flowers which grow within the extensive woodlands of Bowhill.
Also taking place next month is the highly-anticipated Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile, which will see scores of locals setting off from the Estate on Sunday, March 23 at 11am.
With the choice to take on one, three or six miles, there is a chance for people of all levels of fitness and ability to get active in the name of Sport Relief, which helps transform the lives of people living in the UK and in some of the world’s poorest countries.
Lastly, Bowhill Theatre will play host to a special performance of ‘Talbot House – A Home From Home,’ by Beyond Eternity Promotions.
The production tells the story of Talbot House in Poperinge, Belgium, which became a haven for thousands of troops during World War One.
On March 27 at 8pm, the feel good play gives a brief taste of the atmosphere of the time, with the aid of music and poetry from the Great War.
Helen Currie, House and Events Manager for Bowhill, said: “The team at Bowhill are thoroughly excited about the start of the new 2014 season in April.
“We’re getting into the swing of things throughout March and are looking forward to seeing the Estate get a lot busier in the coming weeks. We hope to see plenty of new faces celebrating the start of spring and enjoying the events on offer at Bowhill.”
Tickets for the play can be purchased for £12 per person with an optional theatre supper at 6.30pm for an additional £13. To book, visit www.borderevents.com or contact Bowhill House and Country Estate on 01750 22204.
