Ladies day at Bowhill

23rd July, 2018

Oxnam Water Ladies (OWLs) enjoyed a group day out enjoying the history and heritage of one of the Borders’ beautiful country estates.

The 30-strong group visited Bowhill House and Country Estate for a guided tour of the House where they were able to learn about its wonderful art collection and the Buccleuch family history.

OWLs meet every first Tuesday of the month at Oxnam Village Hall where members are often treated to a variety of speakers and delicious home baking.

Dorothy Heard, committee member of Oxnam Water Ladies, said: “Our ladies loved the opportunity to explore Bowhill House.

“It was fascinating to hear lots about its rich history from the knowledgeable team.”

Helen Currie, House Manager at Bowhill, said: “We were delighted to welcome the lovely members of Oxnam Water Ladies to Bowhill and very pleased they had a fantastic time.”
