Join in the fun at Bowhill
28th May, 2015
Bowhill is inviting all the family to the Estate to join in the fun and take part in the many Ranger activities on offer.
The Family Ranger Club runs every Sunday until September, offering outdoor adventures for youngsters and adults alike.
At the club, families will have the chance to find out what it’s like to be a Ranger for the day, learning about wildlife and conservation on the Estate and trying out pond dipping or bird surveying.
Together, groups can build a home for the little animals on the Estate from birds and bats to hedgehogs. Taking part in the activity costs £3 per adult and £2 per child, with a family ticket priced at £8.
Youngsters can go nuts taking part in Nutty’s Little Squirrel Club, between 1.30pm and 2.30pm every Wednesday until the end of September.
It gives children aged under six the chance to get out into the woodland area of Bowhill, and to take part in a host of Ranger activities.
The little ones will be taken on a selection of explorer walks, as well as enjoying story time with the Bowhill Ranger. They will explore their creative side with woodland craft, and join in wilderness games. All children must be accompanied by an adult and the activity is priced £2.50 per child.
Those who like to enjoy a Saturday outdoors can join the Sweet Bowhill Guided Walk for a relaxing guided stroll around the grounds of Bowhill House.
The walks will take place on the first Saturday of every month and will allow participants to explore the gardens and lochs, whilst enjoying breath-taking views of the woodlands around the Estate.
A Bowhill Ranger will provide walkers with a brief history of the House and its place in the landscape, as well as offering interesting information about the history of the woodlands, wildlife and the conservation work carried out on the Estate.
The walks will run on the first Saturday in June, July and August from 1-3pm. A place on the walk costs £3 per adult and £2 per child.
Entry fees for the House, Estate and Gardens are £10 for adults, £4 for children aged five to 16 and £28 for a family pass. Children under five go free.
This marks the third year of the popular ‘pay once’ scheme, where visitors with a ticket can visit the Estate as many times as they wish throughout the season.
