Get hooked on Bowhill at Neverland Weekend

26th May, 2016

Lost Boys and budding Tinkerbells are invited on a journey to Neverland for a magical bank holiday weekend at Bowhill House and Country Estate.

The Peter Pan-themed weekend, from 11am-4pm every day from Friday 27th May until Monday 30th May, is perfect for little ones – and parents who aren’t quite ready to grow up.

And the best Peter Pan-inspired fancy dress costumes will win on-the-spot prizes throughout the weekend.

Bowhill will enjoy a sprinkling of magic fairy dust with weekend-long fairy door and treasure hunt trails as well as a host of other activities.

Children (and adults) of all ages can enjoy magical crafts with the chance to create Peter Pan pictures, fairy doors, wands and bows & arrows; whilst real-life Lost Boys (and girls) can build secret dens and rafts or go crocodile hunting with Captain Hook.

The whole family will also have the chance to go pond dipping in truly captivating surroundings, or enjoy a Shadow Hunt during tours of Bowhill House throughout the entire weekend.

Rory Powell, Countryside, Learning and Engagement Ranger, said: “It’s notoriously difficult to keep the entire family entertained over an entire bank holiday weekend, so we decided to create a magical weekend inspired by a story loved by children and adults alike.

“There will be plenty going on throughout the weekend to keep everyone entertained, from crafts to outdoor adventures based on J.M Barrie’s Peter Pan and its beloved characters.

“We can’t wait to welcome visitors over the weekend, particularly those entering our fancy dress competition. I’m sure we’ll see a few fantastic fairies and Captain Hook-inspired pirates as well as Peter Pan and his Lost Boys trying to win our competition.”

As well as a full schedule of Neverland Weekend activities, Bowhill House will be open for Guided Tours throughout the weekend. The Adventure Playground, tearoom and gift shop will also be open.

Estate entry applies for all visitors throughout the weekend. Under the ‘pay once’ scheme, visitors simply pay for their first visit as normal and can continue to visit as many times as they like during opening hours until the end of September. Entry to the House, Gardens and Estate costs just £10 for adults, £9 for concessions and £4 for children 3-16 years (under 3 years go free). Families cost just £28.

Entry for the Estate and Gardens only costs £4.50 for adults and £3.50 for concessions and children aged 3-16 years. Under 3 years go free and families cost just £14.
