Duo of Comedy Theatre Productions Billed for Bowhill

Bowhill House has billed a duo of comedy theatre productions showcasing laugh-out-loud stories and stand-out satire to entertain visitors to the theatre this autumn.
The first of the comedy productions to feature is ‘Rallying Round’ presented by Northumberland Theatre Company on 31st October at 8pm.
The comedy follows an old soldier, Archie, as he cons his carer, Kev, into driving him to Monte Carlo – a journey he used to make annually in his classic rally car. The play, written by Stewart Howson, is a funny and touching story of an unusual friendship with two very different worlds colliding.
The second performance, which will have guests rolling about the aisles with laughter, is ‘An evening with the humour of Bob Newhart and Tom Lehrer’ taking place on 16th November at 8pm.
Peter Gill and Andrew Meller will present an evening dedicated to the satirical humour of the American comic legends featuring famous sketches such as ‘Newhart’s Driving Instructor’ and ‘Introducing Tobacco to Civilisation’ as well as Lehrer’s sharp-witted songs including ‘Poisoning Pigeons in the Park’ and ‘The Masochism Tango’.
