Double the Theatre fun at Bowhill

11th April, 2014

Bowhill House and Country Estate is set to play host to two fantastic theatre productions later this month.

Visitors can be entertained within the intimate surroundings of Bowhill Theatre with this month’s first performance, The Secret Life of Suitcases, on April 20 at 3pm.

The humorous and captivating family show is a collaboration with Unicorn Theatre – the UK’s leading theatre for young audiences – by writer/director Lewis Hetherington and puppeteer/designer, Ailie Cohen.

The play tells the story of Larry, who works at a suitcase station sorting out everyone’s secrets as they arrive from all over the world.

One day a secret escapes and Larry has to get it back. What ensues is a lovely story about journeys and the delights of returning home.

The Secret Life of Suitcases is suitable for a family audience recommended for children of four years and over. Tickets are priced at £4 per person.

The following weekend sees the return of Old Forge Productions to Bowhill following its sell-out performance of ‘Talking Heads’ in 2012.

It will put on the world premiere of its latest production, ‘Moving On’, on April 26 at 8pm.

This new one-woman play by Claire Charles takes an insightful, poignant and funny look at love, life, laughter and living.

The lead and only character, Katherine, takes the audience on a journey of nostalgic discovery from childhood to middle age in an emotional rollercoaster that will have spectators sobbing in their seats, rolling in the aisles and reflecting upon the life experiences that man and womankind encounter on a daily basis.

Tickets for ‘Moving On’ are priced at £12 per person with an optional theatre supper at 6.30pm costing £13.
