Take a trek with a difference at Bowhill

26th July, 2019

Bowhill House and Grounds is offering a walk with four-legged friends with a difference this summer.

Enjoy an extra-special Alpaca Trek experience around the picturesque grounds of Bowhill on Wednesday 31 July.

Those lucky enough to book on for one of the four trek slots with Velvet Hall Alpacas will enjoy an hour with their very own alpaca, including a gentle walk along the Estate’s trails and forest paths for around 30-40 minutes.

Each person will also have time to feed their alpaca and take some photographs for lasting memories.

Sarah Richardson, Visitor Services and Marketing Manager at Bowhill House and Grounds, said: “Our Alpaca Treks will be truly unique experiences that should not be missed. The animals are gentle, playful and inquisitive making this the perfect activity for families.

“Not only will those taking part have the chance to walk, feed, get to know and take pictures with their very own alpaca during the hour-long session, they will get to do all of this in the stunning surroundings of Bowhill House and Grounds.”

Alpaca Trekking at Bowhill House and Grounds will take place on Wednesday 31 July, and booking is essential. One hour slots are available at 10.30am, 11.30am, 1pm and 2pm and cost £20 for one person with one alpaca. Family or friends can come along too for an additional £5 per person.

For more information or to make a booking – which is essential to secure a place – call 01750 22204 or email info@bowhillhouse.co.uk

For those not taking part in the trek, entry to Bowhill’s grounds is priced at £5.50 for adults, £4.50 for concessions and children aged 3-16, while under-3s go free. Family passes for up to two adults and two children is just £18.

Following each trek, visitors can continue to enjoy Bowhill’s extensive and striking grounds or enjoy a bite to eat at the Minstrel Tearoom – while little ones and the young at heart can get rid of any extra energy in the Adventure Playground.

The grounds and exhibition are open daily until 31 August and open Friday to Sunday between 1 – 29 September. Bowhill House is open for tours between 1 – 31 August and 26 – 27 October.
