Off the beaten track: Explore Bowhill by Segway

21st May, 2018

A brand new Segway experience, enabling adventure seekers to explore the spectacular scenery of the Scottish Borders, is taking place on 26th May.

Bowhill House and Country Estate has teamed up with Border Segways to bring the exhilarating activity to the popular visitor attraction.

Participants will be able to whizz around the Estate, both on and off road, during the 25 minute sessions.

Rory Powell, Countryside Learning & Engagement Ranger at Bowhill, said: “We are very excited to bring this fantastic experience to the Estate.

“The session comes hot on the heels of our first ever tree climbing sessions at the start of the month which proved very popular.

“We’ve been looking at new activities we can bring to our events programme to allow visitors to explore areas of the Estate they may never have seen in thrilling new ways and the Segway sessions definitely fit the bill.

“We have two further sessions planned on 28th July and 1st September.”

Kerry Grieve, Managing Director at Border Segways, said: “Our sessions offer a completely unique way to take in the beautiful sights in the Borders.

“We’re delighted to partner with Bowhill to bring sessions to the Estate – it’s a truly superb location and we’re looking forward to leading groups of explorers through the countryside on our Segways.”

The sessions take place every half hour between 10am and 5pm on Saturday 26th May (no sessions between 12noon and 2pm) and cost £20 per person. Suitable for those aged 12 and over. Training and safety equipment will be provided.
