Bowhill swings into the visitor season with playground upgrade
20th March, 2018
As Bowhill House and Country Estate prepares to open its doors for the season on 30 March, its playground has undergone a revamp with new equipment for youngsters to enjoy.
A group tyre swing and rope tower of over 8m have been added to the playground’s existing offering, creating hours of fun and a new challenge for children.
The playground is set within the Estate’s beautiful scenery and includes zip wires, rope bridge and slides.
In addition to the new-look playground, visitors can celebrate Easter with an egg-cellent family fun day planned for 1st April. Activities include Easter trails, House tours, archery taster sessions, a 24ft climbing wall, face painting plus an appearance from Peter Pepper.
Bowhill’s egg-citing Easter events continue throughout the school holidays with its Holiday Ranger Club. Children aged six and over can take part in a variety of outdoor activities including den building, campfire fun and raft building.
Easter celebrations conclude on 14th April with the Hot Cross Bun Fun Run. The Estate’s 5km and one-mile routes can be run or walked with Easter themed fancy dress encouraged.
Rory Powell, Countryside Learning & Engagement Ranger at Bowhill, said: “Not only can visitors explore our fantastic playground complete with brand new equipment, they can join our Easter eggs-stravaganza.
“Our Easter events are set to be a superb way to celebrate the launch of our open season and there will be plenty to keep the entire family entertained.
“What’s more, visitors will be able to enjoy all our regular activities including House tours and exploring the gardens.
“The Love and Respect in the Victorian Age exhibition will also return this year offering the chance to see some of our rare Victorian artefacts which tells the story of Duke Walter Francis Montagu Douglas Scott and Lady Charlotte-Anne Montagu Douglas Scott, who featured as a character in the latest series of ITV’s Victoria.”
