Wartime tale comes to Bowhill Theatre

11th April, 2017

Bowhill Theatre is set to welcome Beyond Eternity Promotions for a thought-provoking performance of ‘Meet Tommy Atkins’.

This acclaimed play – written by playwright, actor and musician Peter Gill – depicts the reality of war, its horrors and unexpected joys, through the eyes of one man, a simple ‘Tommy’.

Arriving at Bowhill Theatre on Friday 28 April at 8pm, this wartime tale is a must-see.

Bowhill’s intimate 72-seat auditorium is the perfect space to enjoy a night at the theatre. What’s more attendees also have the option to enjoy a delicious two-course pre-theatre supper followed by tea or coffee before taking their seat.

Helen Currie, House and Events Manager at Bowhill, said: “Our packed schedule of shows is well underway for the season and we’re delighted to bring this production to the Borders.

“We look forward to welcoming theatre aficionados and new guests to the hidden gem that is the Bowhill Theatre.”

Those who join the Friends of Bowhill Theatre scheme can enjoy a host of regular updates and additional benefits – such as priority programmes and booking, choice of seat and complimentary access to the House and grounds during the season. It costs £15 per year, or £25 for two people living at the same address.

‘Meet Tommy Atkins’ is suitable for those aged 13 and over. Tickets are priced £12 for adults and £10 for under 16s.

The optional pre-theatre supper is served at 6.30pm and is £13 per person. Booking essential.
