Crack open the fun at Bowhill’s Easter events
13th March, 2017
Families venturing into the Scottish Borders this spring need to look no further for entertainment this Easter as Bowhill House and Country Estate has a host of events covered.
The first activity to kick start the 2017 season at Bowhill is its Hot Cross Bun Fun Run on Saturday 8th April. Earn a medal and work up an appetite for a chocolate egg or hot cross bun treat after completing a 5K or one mile course through the picturesque country surroundings.
Families can fully immerse themselves in the theme as Easter fancy dress is highly encouraged- all lambs, chicks and bunnies welcome.
Pre-registration is essential for the fun run which starts at 11am and costs £5 per person.
On Monday 10th April, families can enjoy a fresh and funny retelling of the traditional take Jack and the Beanstalk. The interactive show titled Garlic Theatre: Jack and the Beans Talk is packed with props to engage the senses and entertain all the family from the age of three.
Booking is recommended for the family friendly performance which starts at 3pm and costs £5 per person.
In addition to the traditional House tours, on Sunday 16th April Bowhill will be a hive of activity for families with a kids Easter egg trail, bouncy castle and decorated eggs-factor competition.
Brand new for the 2017 Easter Sunday Fun Day, Bowhill will also offer trailer tours of the Estate for visitors to see the spring buds and spot lambs and bunny rabbits up close.
Bowhill’s Easter Sunday Fun Day takes place from 11am-4pm. All activities inclusive of Estate entry fee apart from the trailer tours which cost an additional £2.50 per person of £8 for a family of four.
If that wasn’t enough Easter Holiday entertainment, Bowhill will also be welcoming youngsters aged six and over to its Holiday Ranger Club. The two hour sessions led by Bowhill’s skilled rangers will include outdoor fun favourites like den building and pond dipping as well as woodland art, bush craft and fire lighting activities.
Bowhill’s Holiday Ranger Club takes place on April 4th, 6th 11th and 13th from 11am-1pm and costs £5 per child.
