Festive cheer all season at Bowhill

Families can get into the Christmas spirit with the help of an array of festive activities at Bowhill House and Country Estate in the coming weeks.
The first event to kick-start the proceedings this festive season is a fundraising Santa Jog in aid of Cash for Kids.

At 11am on Saturday 26 November, people of all ages can don a Santa suit and take part in a one mile fun run, or a 5k route for the more adventurous, in the stunning surroundings of Bowhill Estate. (booking essential)

The festive fun doesn’t stop there as the Estate will host a Santa’s Grotto and children’s Christmas craft table. The popular Nutty the Squirrel’s soft play area and Bowhill gift shop will also be open from 11am – 2.30pm and tasty treats will be available from the Minstrel Tearoom.

Helen Currie, House and Events Manager at Bowhill, said: “We love to get into the Christmas spirit here at Bowhill and our Santa Jog is a fantastic, fun activity which raises money for a great cause.
“We were thrilled with the success of our Sport Relief Mile event held at Bowhill earlier this year, raising more than £2,700, and we hope that our festive version will be equally successful.”
Bowhill’s Festive Fundraiser takes place on Saturday 26 November from 11am-2.30pm.

Entry to the Santa Jog is £4, or £2.50 for 2016 pass holders, and £1 for spectators. Half of the entry money collected will go to Cash for Kids along with any additional donations on the day.
Bowhill is also running workshops on wreath and garland making in the lead-up to Christmas so if you want to add a personal touch to your festive decorations at home, look no further.
Tuition will be provided and all materials will be supplied along with a hot drink and festive treat.

The wreath-making workshops will take place on 6, 7, 8 and 13 December from 10am-12pm and cost £22 per person; and the garland-making workshop takes place on Wednesday 14 December from 10am-12.30pm and costs £25 per person.
