Easter bonanza to celebrate 2015 season launch

24th March, 2015

Bowhill House and Country Estate is set to launch its 2015 season with a day of egg-citing Easter fun.

Visitors are expected to flock to Bowhill for the new season opening on April 3 to enjoy attractions including Nutty the Squirrel soft play, the Minstrel Tearoom and the recently-upgraded Adventure Playground which includes new equipment voted for by Bowhill’s Facebook followers.

This will also mark the third year of the popular ‘pay once’ scheme, where visitors with a ticket can visit the Estate as many times as they wish throughout the season.

To kick off, families are invited to take part in a host of themed activities during the Easter Fun Day, which will take place on April 5 between 11am-4pm.

Special guest ‘Nutty the Squirrel’ – Bowhill’s furry and friendly resident – will be on hand throughout the day to greet all visitors.

Themed nature trails have also been specially designed for the day, taking participants around the Estate as they follow a series of Easter clues to reach the finish line, where they will be rewarded with a tasty treat.

The ‘Eggs Factor’ competition makes a welcome return and once again talented youngsters will have the opportunity to showcase their creativity. Visitors will vote for their favourite painted or decorated egg, with the winner taking home a yummy prize.

Entrants to the competition are welcome to bring along their own artistic egg or can choose to decorate one at the Estate for a small charge of £1.

Additional entertainment on offer throughout the day will include a Punch and Judy show, balloon modelling and a bouncy castle. Entry for the bouncy castle will be priced at £1.

Helen Currie, House and Events Manager at Bowhill, said: “We’re really looking forward to starting the 2015 season with a bang. The Easter Fun Day is always a lovely day out, which is enjoyed by lots of local families. It’s the perfect event to kick start the season and set precedent for all the exciting activities we have planned for the coming months.

“We hope to see lots of familiar and new faces joining us to get involved in the fun.”

Normal Estate entry prices apply: Adults £4.50, concession £3.50, children 3-16 years £3.50, under 3 years go free.
