Selkirk Rhinos have a ball in Dublin with new strips
1st May, 2013
Local junior rugby club, the Selkirk Mini Rhinos, took part in a Dublin tournament in style recently thanks to the donation of new sponsored strips.
Bowhill House & Country Estate was proud to kit out the local team for their trip to the Emerald Isle.
For their annual P7 tour the team took part in Ireland’s biggest mini rugby festival – Seapoint International Mini Blitz – which plays host to more than 1,600 players from 120 teams.
The Rhinos were accompanied by coaches Duncan Maceira and Derek McFadzen.
Duncan said: “Local support and sponsorship are vital for a team like ours to thrive and the boys were delighted with their brand new strips which they wore with pride in Ireland.
“The trip was fantastic and has provided the boys with valuable experience and memories before they leave the Rhinos and progress to high school rugby. We’d like to thank Bowhill House & Country Estate for its support.”
Sarah Peat, Customers Services Manager for Bowhill, said: “The boys came to the Estate to show off their new strips and looked absolutely delighted with them. We are proud to support a local team and we wish the boys every success in the future.”
The boys will have another chance to show off their strips at their forthcoming mini tournament with Peebles and Jedburgh.
Bowhill House & Country Estate has been a longstanding supporter of the sport. The Duke of Buccleuch is a founder and sponsor of the Bill McLaren Foundation, a charitable organisation which raises funds to support the development of rugby and its values.
